Why does iTunes have to be so difficult
After Apple’s announcements yesterday revealing their new line of uninspiring ipods I was not surprised to receive an update this morning that there’s an update to iTunes. Everyone is pretty familiar with Apple and their “great” designs and high marks for easy user interaction but they just can’t seem to get iTunes updates right.
Every iTunes update requires you to download the entire application, and QuickTime, again at a whomping 58mb. Can’t Apple figure out how to patch iTunes instead of having to just reinstall the entire application again and again?
On top of a huge download and install, it requires a reboot. Why does installing a media player require me to reboot?
So frustrating.
UPDATE: And now in the process iTunes has decided that my library is now corrupt and has to rebuild my entire library while loosing ALL of my podcasts. This is the SECOND time this has happened during an update. UGH!
